Helen Wolff Grants Launched to Support Politically Persecuted Women Writers

Descendants of the transatlantic publishing figure Helen Wolff, in conjunction with two European-based nonprofits, have launched a program providing stipends in support of women writers in crisis and conflict zones. Nineteen Afghan women, in country and in exile, have received the first round of grants in collaboration with Berlin-based WeiterSchreiben and Untold Afghanistan of London. Going forward the awards will be extended to women writers in need from other parts of the world. To read more about the Helen Wolff Grants, click here.
